When we think small, our world shrinks. When we think big, our imagination allows our world to grow. It invites new ideas, makes our brain open (and receptive) to opportunity, and seemingly makes the world “conspire in our favor” as our favorite author writes in The Alchemist.
But then what? Our ideas might find paper, but how do we realize them? How do we bring them to life?
The answer is we also have to play big. We have to take steps to make our dreams a reality, which isn’t easy work. We think getting started is the hardest part (it’s also definitely the scariest). We put our ideas into the world, untested and unjudged, hoping they succeed.
But hope is not a strategy. If we want to win big, the “play” part is crucial.
It’s also important that we define what “winning big” or success actually is. Otherwise, we’re playing to win someone else’s game. We enter a rat race we don’t want to be a part of, and it’s tough to watch someone not realize how well they’re actually doing. Confidence needs success, which breeds more success. Make a plan to get there.
This week’s newsletter has a simple, yet repeatable message:
Dream Big (generate new ideas), Play Big (take action on those ideas with a plan to success, while defining what success looks like), Win Big (execute).
Then, repeat.
Have the best day ever, every single day.
